Born Keira Christina Knightley on March 26th 1985 in Teddington, England. The daughter of actor Will Knightley
and Sharman Macdonald. Brought up with both parents in the acting profession it is no wonder that she is so far in
her career now. She asked for her own agent when she was three years old, at got her first role at the age of six. This
was followed by larger parts in A Village Affair (1994), TV series the 'The Bill', The Treasure Seekers (1996) and
Coming Home (1998).
Her really big debut however was as Natalie Portman's double in Star Wars Episode I (1999). There was so much
confusion even Natalie Portmans mother couldn't tell the two apart. Keira has never been formally trained in acting,
she has just done it because she enjoys it. In the summer of 2001, she filmed her career-boosting role in Bend It Like
Beckham, followed by Love Actually (2003) and Pirates of the Carribean (2003).
She was voted number 1 in New Woman magazines 50 Most Beautiful Celebs 2004 and Tatler said that Keira is the
most desirable single woman in the UK and Empire magazine voted her the Sexiest Film Star of All Time.
Keira received her first major award in the Hollywood Film Awards ceremony for Best Breakthrough Actor - Female.
She is currently to be found filming Pirates of the Carribean 3 (2007) and Silk (2007) and has her 30th screen
appearance already booked.
